Im running Windows 7 (64 Bit) via bootcamp on my mid 2010 iMac.
I've just bought the GameCom 780's and have tried to install the software that comes on the CD. I went through and it installed ok, restarted the computer and plugged in the headset. Although the sound and mic does work fine, I'm not getting the full Dolby 7.1 and the headphone icon that is supposed to pop up in the system tray after installing the software isn't there (as shown in this guide on your site - Support Knowledge Base | Plantronics) I also don't have a way to access this Support Knowledge Base | Plantronics menu either.
The volume control on the headset doesn't work, I'm not getting any beep or any feedback from scrolling it and the dolby button on the headset doesn't do anything either. Mute microphone on the headset does work fine though.
Any ideas? Am I doing something wrong? I've tried uninstalling via add or remove programs and reinstalling from the CD to no avail.
Sam, would you be able to try installing the software on a different computer to see if the issue continues?
Dominick, we have not yet optimized the headset for use with Windows 8, as it is still yet to be released. We cannot guarantee functionality with pre-release versions of an operating system, since we have not adequately tested the headset with it.
Dominick, we do have a second release of the Dolby software available for download from our website - have you tried wiping the old one and downloading the new release from our website? I've included a link to it below:
Here is the funny thing... I had the headset for Win8 and it worked PERFECTLY!. I reinstalled windows 8 for my SSD and the installer wont work version 1 or version 2... I did what Jamie Thompson said with compatibility mode and it worked/installed the software.
So coming from someone who has jsut had the installer program on Windows 8 ( when previously I did not ) compatibility mode on the .exe to windows 7 + administrator rights WILL fix the issue.
