I am a newbie and could not locate the exact condition that has caused concern, although there seem to be many similar issues. I am submitting this question because the Plantronics live helpis currently closed for the day and I understand that live support is notavailable on Saturdays or Sundays. A recently ordered Voyager Pro headset was delivered today(9 Oct 2009 ordered from Amazon.com). After charging the headset for 1.5 hours, I put the unit into service, paired it with my Treo Pro 850 (handheld unit) and attempted to use the phoneapplication and another app that streams music and other sounds. The Voyager Pro headset consistently dropsthe sound regardless of the application. It maintains the connection for no more than 5 seconds and thenautomatically transfers the sound back to the handheld unit. This is particularly frustrating. Is there a way to correct the problem? I have not yet attempted to use the Treo's voice dialingfeature with the Voyager Pro, nor have I used the headset with the Treo'sinternal GPS application. All of the Treo's applications are operating normallywithout the headset, however I wish to use the headset with each of the soundtransmitting features of the handset unit. I also noticed that the instruction manual indicates thatthe headset will register a red LED while it is charging. My unit was red for only a few seconds andthen flashed alternately between red and blue. It is difficult to determine visually whether the unit is on or off. Icurrently have the headset plugged into the wall charger and noticed that itdoes not register whether it is on or off no matter how often I depress thepower button. When attempting to poweron now, the following sequence is noted: 1. Depress power on/off button for 2 seconds; 2. Blue LED appears, stays on for 1 second and goes off. 3. Depress power on/off button for 2 seconds; 4. Red LED appears, stays on for 1 second and goes off. This behavior was not evident earlier when initiallyattempting to utilize the headset. Before purchasing this unit, I became aware that a competingheadset, the Blue Ant, can communicate vocally with the user to indicate itson/off status, remaining charge available, readiness to respond to voicecommands among other things. I chose to purchase the Voyager Pro because of itspurported superior noise canceling capability, although it would be desirableto have the features presented in the competing unit. Is there a way to determine if I received a defectiveheadset unit? If it does prove to bemalfunctioning, what steps need be addressed to rapidly obtain a replacement? Thanks, any help will be appreciated.
