I just bought a brand new Audio 655. I have tried it on both of my computers, both of which run Vista 32 bit, and both attempt to install a driver for a Generic USB Audio Device and then fail to find the driver. I called tech support and they told me I had to call Microsoft. I found one thread of someone who had this problem but no answer was posted besides return the headset. I find it hard to believe I'm the only one who has ever encountered this problem. Both of these installs of Vista are relatively new, I'm not running anything weird on them. I'm a computer programmer, so I know what I am doing, I don't think it's an issue of cluelessness though I'd be happy to be proven wrong. Does anyone have any suggestions? If not, I suppose I'm just forced to return the headset which would be unfortunate since I bought it after reading good reviews and it certainly looks good and feels comfortable. Thanks for any ideas,

Dan

Plantronics does not supply drivers for their headsets.  All the audio drivers come from your Windows.  Make sure you are plugging directly into your computer and not a hub or docking station.  Go into your sounds and audio devices and make sure that your headset is selected as your default device and that your microphone isn't muted.
